Welcome to October Surprises!
Just when I think everything in the Studio is going smoothly, Murphy's Law kicks in.
First, as you all know, Mr. Pullin went to the ER Monday, September 29th for possible seizures. Thankfully he was discharged Monday night, but that threw the Studio's entire schedule off. I ended up cancelling all lessons, both Group and makeup, for Mr. Pullin and I to figure out the new round of health care. That cancellation as well as the upcoming Fall Break has been a puzzle for me to put together.
Second, we are excited to share that our nephew, Daniel Pullin, will be installed as Chancellor of TCU on November 4 in Fort Worth! This is a very special occasion for our family and, depending on Mr. Pullin's health, we plan to travel to Fort Worth to celebrate with him.
Please take note of the following changes to our Fall Semester Calendar due to all the above.

Monday, October 6th: Missed Labor Day Monday lessons will be made up on the 6th.

NAMTA Fall Festival
This year's Fall Festival is Saturday, November 1st! Yes, you may still wear your Halloween costume from the night before but I suggest you leave your candy at home. Fall Festival is an annual event sponsored by the Norman Area Music Teachers Association for the express purpose of allowing any student to participate in an adjudicated audition. The music that may be assigned for Fall Festival does not follow the more stringent performance rules set by OMTA for their state sponsored auditions and competitions. One may play arrangements, movie themes, duets or pop music. Memory is still required. The Festival also has face painting, games and a bake sale sponsored by the OU chapter of MTNA (Music Teachers National Assoc.). This is a great audition for the younger students to learn how to prepare and participate in auditions. For more information, check this link

COVID/FLU STUDIO PROTOCOL
- Masks will now be optional. Parents, please let me know if you want teacher and student to be masked during lessons.
- ALL students will use hand sanitizer upon arriving at the Studio.
- If a student has a cough and/or fever, that student should NOT come to his/her lesson. When in doubt, text me; we will decide on the best course of action.
- If a family member or a student has tested positive for Covid, I should be contacted immediately. That student will then be taught virtually until either the quarantine is over or the student recovers.
🎵 Happy Halloween! 🎵
Remember, according to Studio Policies: Refunds or credits will not be given for lessons or classes missed or canceled by the student. When the student has a conflict, please notify me as soon as possible. Two days prior notice for school events are necessary to qualify for a makeup lesson.
Illness: If a student does not go to school the day of his lesson due to illness, he/she should NOT come to piano lesson! Parents should notify me of the student’s illness; there will be two makeup days scheduled during the semester for those missed lessons. Lessons madeup for illnesses will be limited to two a semester.
