Recitals 2016
My students are awesome!
This year's recitals were held on Saturday, May 21st and Monday, May 23rd. The weather actually cooperated a little better than last year! We had a wonderful Saturday evening to hold the reception outside; Monday, the yard was still too wet from Sunday's rains but we were able to open the doors and set up tables on the back porch for the reception.
Students performed brilliantly! Alas, Mr. Stravinsky and I had difficulties communicating about the date of the recitals so he was in, ahem, Las Vegas. Attending an organ recital is what he told me but really? Las Vegas?! He extended his apologies for having to miss our recitals. It was his loss; Mr. Stravinsky missed hearing what great jobs all the students did performing his music. While I can't say Mr. Stravinsky was the Studio's favorite Mystery Composer, his music was definitely the most challenging to understand and to play. I'm sure there are some parents who might mention Stravinsky's music is also rather difficult to listen to. Thank you students for your hard work. I am very proud of you for stepping up to the challenge!
Check out the recital pictures below. I can't say that I was very good about getting everyone's picture this year. My photographer assistant was not available this year; too many finals as she was getting ready to graduate from Norman North! Parents, if you have some pictures that you have not sent me, please consider doing so; I would like to post them on the website.
